Keeping Your House Clean: Not So Hard!
Cleaning your whole house? Sounds hard! But, it's not so bad. Do a little each day. Easy!
Kitchen: Lots of Messes
Lots of stuff happens in the kitchen. So, it gets dirty fast! Gotta keep it home clean, so you don't get sick.
Every Day:
- Wipe the counters:** After you eat, wipe! No more crumbs!
- Do the dishes:** Don't let the dishes pile up, yuck!
- Clean the sink:** Shiny sink = happy you!
Every Week:
- Clean the big stuff:** Wipe the oven, microwave, and fridge. (Microwaves get especially gross!)
- Wipe the cabinets:** Sticky stuff gets on them. Wipe it off!
More Cleaning, Not So Often
Okay, so you do the quick stuff a lot. But, some stuff? You can do it not so often. Like, once a month.
Bathroom:
- Scrub the toilet,** inside and out. Yuck!
- Scrub the tub,** Get all the soap scum off.
- Clean the sink.**
- Mop the floor.** Bathrooms get wet and dirty!
Bedrooms:
- Make your bed.** Every day! (Or not... who cares?)
- Wash your sheets.** Once a week, or less, if you're lazy.
- Vacuum.** Dust bunnies are bad!
Living Room:
- Vacuum.** A lot of people hang out here.
- Dust.** All that stuff on your shelves!
Don't Forget!
| **Place** | **How Often** | **What to Do** |
| -------------- | ------------ | -------------------------------- |
| **All Floors** | Once a week | Sweep or Vacuum, then Mop it up! |
| **Trash Cans** | When Full | Empty them! No stinky trash! |
| **Windows** | Once a month | Make them shiny! |
See? Cleaning isn't so bad. A little bit at a time. You got this!
Monthly Kitchen Deep Cleaning
For a deep clean, tackle these jobs monthly:
- Cleaning behind the fridge: Dust and grime can build up in unseen places. Pulling out the fridge to clean behind it will help keep your kitchen fresh.
- Scrubbing kitchen floors and walls: A thorough scrubbing of floors and walls, especially in high-traffic areas, will help prevent dirt from becoming embedded over time.
The Bathroom: A Must for Regular Cleaning
The bathroom is another high-traffic area that needs frequent cleaning to prevent bacteria buildup and keep it looking fresh.
Daily Bathroom Maintenance
It doesn’t take long to keep your bathroom tidy with these daily habits:
- Wiping down surfaces: A quick wipe of the sink, counters, and faucet can keep watermarks and soap scum from building up.
- Cleaning the toilet: Use a toilet brush to scrub the bowl daily or every few days to keep germs at bay.
